Cruising Tip: "Finding the right cruising boat takes time, and you need to invest enough time and energy looking at boats to learn what you want, what you need, and what you can live with." -- Diana Jessie, The Cruising Woman's Advisor
I should use this e-mail to write about the sea trial. Everyone wants to hear about the sea trial last Saturday during which Dean, the girls and I went sailing on Don Quixote. Silly me. I even took pictures. But... well... so much happened after that.
We approved the sea trial despite Jamie (not our daughter nor our broker... it gets confusing) asserting that she was a power boat with a mast. Heh. Yeah right. On Monday I quit my job. Then I spent three frantic days getting boat insurance. That's another post. I actually have a lot to say on that topic -- enough that I might try to submit it to a magazine. Today everything got sewed up. The papers arrive tomorrow. We sign them at the notary, and the boat is ours by Friday. On Saturday or Sunday we'll go to Port Townsend, pick her up, and 'drive' her home.
Omigod. I am out of my fraggin mind. I just bought a quarter million dollar house on hulls and quit my job in the same week. Tally ho! Bonzai! Gopher it! Let's rock!
Or something...
I am out of my mind.
